KET-Roadmap 'Advanced Materials in Flanders'
In the framework of its Horizon 2020 program, the European Commission has defined 6 Key Enabling Technologies (KETs): Micro- and Nano-electronics (including semiconductors), Photonics, Advanced Materials, Industrial Biotechnology, Nanotechnology and Advanced Production systems and processes. These technologies are considered to be essential in R&D, innovation and in the strategy of most industrial sectors. They should accelerate the development of promising innovative products and allow to compete on an international scale, re-install economic growth and prosperity, create jobs and, at the same time, formulate an answer to the present societal challenges.
