Flemish PhD Cup

On 29 September 2016, the first Flemish PhD Cup was awarded. 8 finalists competed in the final, presenting their work in 3 minutes to the jury. Andy Gijbels (KULeuven) won the PhD Cup with his work on robotics for eye surgery. Second and third place went to Heleen Dewitte and Didier Snoeck.

We want to put Didier Snoeck's PhD work on self-healing concrete extra in the spotlight here, since it was partly performed in the framework of the SIM program SHE on Self-Healing Engineered materials.
